Dispute Buddy is designed to process message data locally on your device. We prioritise minimising data collection and ensuring you retain control of your information.

This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, when we collect it, and how it is used.

2. Key Principles

  • Your message data is processed locally on your device by default
  • We do not access or receive your messages unless you explicitly request a Behavior Analysis Report
  • When message data is sent for analysis, it is:
    • transmitted securely to our secure cloud infrastructure
    • processed for the requested purpose only 
    • the messages you selected for analysis only
    • deleted immediately after processing
  • We do not retain message content
  • We do not use message content to train AI

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Account Information

When you purchase or use the product, we may collect:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Payment-related identifiers (via third-party providers)

3.2 Diagnostic & Technical Data

We may collect limited technical data to maintain and improve the service, such as:

  • Error logs
  • Device type and operating system
  • App version
  • File paths (where relevant to debugging)

This data does not include message content.

3.3 Message Data (behavior analysis only)

Message data is only transmitted when you explicitly request a Behavior Analysis Report.

In that case:

  • Selected messages are securely sent to our processing infrastructure
  • Processed using third-party AI services (currently Anthropic)
  • Deleted immediately after processing is complete

We do not:

  • store message content
  • use message data for training
  • retain message data for product improvement

4. Third-Party Processing

For Behavior Analysis Reports, we use third-party AI providers:

  • Currently: Anthropic

These providers:

  • process data only for the requested analysis
  • do not retain or train on your data (based on current provider policies)

We may change providers in the future, but will maintain equivalent privacy protections.

5. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • provide access to the product
  • generate requested reports
  • maintain and improve system performance
  • respond to support requests

6. Data Storage & Security

  • Data is transmitted using secure encryption
  • Message data (when used) is ephemeral and deleted after processing
  • We implement reasonable technical and organisational safeguards

7. International Data Transfers

Some processing may occur outside Australia (e.g. via cloud or AI providers).

Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure data is handled in accordance with this policy.

8. Your Rights

You may:

  • request access to personal information we hold about you
  • request correction of inaccurate information
  • request deletion of your personal data (where applicable)

9. Third-Party Data Responsibility

Dispute Buddy processes message data that may include information about other individuals.

By using the product, you acknowledge that:

  • you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to access and process this data
  • you comply with applicable privacy and surveillance laws

10. Data Retention

  • Message content: not retained
  • Account and diagnostic data: retained only as long as necessary for service operation and legal obligations

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page.
