Welcome to our new home! Yay! And welcome to our first ever blog post.
We're taking a deep breath and launching this new website on 31 December 2025. New Year's Eve feels like a very fitting day for this auspicious moment!
This very day last year we took a deep breath as a developer cut the first line of code to bring Dispute Buddy to life.
I had no idea that 365 days later we'd have built the app, launched it, and helped over 250 people to export their texts to give to their lawyer.
Five years ago I had to work out how to export my texts for my lawyer and it was an absolute nightmare. And now, I get to help thousands and hopefully MILLIONS of people so they don't experience what I did - scrolling through re-reading messages that made me feel TERRIBLE and WORTHLESS. And I had absolutely no idea which messages my lawyer needed to help me build my case.
A bit about the fab person who built our website - Claire Waring is a designer and tech founder. I met her at Techstars Sydney in September 2024 where we sat opposite each other in a room of 25 other tech founders. She's a talented designer AND deeply cares about the people who'll land on the website. She had watched me during Techstars figuring out a way to allow people who've left abusive relationships to export their iPhone texts and WhatsApps for their lawyer. Which made her the perfect designer for us!
All these words are written by me, Jenny Rudd, the founder of Dispute Buddy. As we help more and more people, it probably won't be possible to write everything :) But I want you know you're talking to a real person back here, with a real story, not dissimilar to yours.
